Open Science in Big Data (OSBD 2016)

The workshop will consist of a keynote address, a panel discussion, and 3 research paper sessions. The papers will be published in the conference proceedings with short papers for the keynote, panel, and student session, and full papers for the other sessions. Additionally, select workshop papers will be invited for fast-track review and publication in a special issue of IEEE Transactions on Big Data focusing on open source tools in big data.

In the spirit of the workshop, speakers are encouraged to devote part of their presentations to live notebook demos, code repository walkthroughs, or exploratory data analyses. Furthermore, speakers are strongly encouraged to post their presentation materials (slides, notebooks, data) publicly for workshop attendees. With the authors' permission, respective papers and presentation materials will be posted on the OSBD GitHub repository.
